Lately Windows Movie Maker has become unstable and will no longer save the final version of my video. I keep getting an error that I don't have enough disc space or that I've moved the source files, but I know that's not true. Either that, or the program crashes every five minutes...and I just finished a SICK 3-minute Bruce Lee tribute that I was going to put on YouTube. I'd been working on it for weeks. ![]() Anyway, what are some good alternatives to Windows Movie Maker? I'd prefer a linear video editor. I already have a non-linear program (Virtualdub) that I use for other stuff, but for creating a montage with multiple video clips, I need something similar to Movie Maker. |

I use Adobe Premier for video editing. I think Adobe has a freeware version of it, you could try that. If Movie Maker is crapping out try deleting some temp files and running a defrag. Depending on how large the clips are when MM is trying to process them it could be having a hard time finding a big enough space to create a swap file. Hope that helps. |

Beat the shit out of someone yourself. I've heard unliscensed alcoholic cab drivers are an easy target. |
