What are some good websites out there as far as apartment hunting goes? Both Chicago and suburbs. Any help would be appreciated.

For instance over the weekend I was in Tinley Park eating at a restaurant on Oak Park Ave. and there some apartments for rent across the street...later I searched all over and couldn't find any info on the internet at all. Yes maybe there are some places that you just aren't going to be able to locate using some kind of search tool but just wondering if anyone has had luck with any.

The reader has some good listings. But you might wanna just go to apartment offices and get the number. Not all of them advertise. Also the ones on 115th and pulaski across from Marist are nice and usually have some available.

Hmm...didn't think about the Reader, thanks.

This is for my ex-wife, so I have incentive to help her find one ASAP

For what its worth I found the place I am living in now on craiglist. Alot of the postings on there are crap but you can find some decent ones out there without having to go to one of those apartment finders.

Check out lifehacker.com, they had some apartment search tips on there a couple of days ago. Craiglist/Google Maps mashups and what not.

My BIL was very successful in finding a fantastic (location/rent/features) apartment in Beverly by keeping an eye on Craigslist.
