Anyone up for this? I'm trying to get back in hockey shape, and it would be nice to have some more incentive to get there. So I'm willing to put up one of my most prized possessions in my life, my signed Chelios Sherwood stick to the winner of the competition:

I do not want to lose this, so I would work hard to keep it... The last time I laced up my skates for my team as a sophomore in highschool, I was 5'11 and 210 Lb's... now in my senior year in college I'm 6'1 and 257 LB's... I'm trying to get down to 220-227 LB's in two-three months...

Men, women, old and young, anyone want to contribute to the pot? of memorabilia isn't your thing, I'm willing to put in $50 or something like that, but that wouldn't give me as much incentive...

I wouldn't mind this...I've put on 10-15 lbs since being out of work...I'm 6'2 218 currently, would love to get back to 200-205. But since I don't have much to lose I'm not sure if I would be best candidate for this.

I would be interested, but how would it be done? % of weight or just straight pounds or what?

Would this be starting at the first of the year?

I lost about 30 lbs this year. I lost more than I wanted to, so count me out.

I don't really know, I guess % would be fair, but it's up for debate, those interested can suggest/negotiate official rules and ideas...

I would be interested in getting into this. I have been stuck right around
250 lbs for a year now and would love to get back down to 220 or 225
before I get the golf clubs out this spring. Percentage of weight loss is
probably the best way to determine a winner, since not everyone is as
big or overweight as others. I would be willing to put in a gift card of
some sort, or I will go to my basement and dig around my boxes of
memorabilia. I likely have something worth putting up for this. Only
questions would be when do we start and how long would it go on
for? I personally think 3 months would be pretty good.

that sounds good to me, everyone weighs in on the first of January and we go for three months, that seems like it would be a healthy amount of time...

I think % would be the only fair way to do it.

As far as time, I would suggest maybe going from Mon. Jan. 4, 2010 to Mon. Apr 5, 2010, and have everyone participating post their weigh in each Monday.

Yeah, but how do you feel about the challenge?

I might be down for this. I would love to lose some tubbage before my next gig.

It's an interesting idea. I have been wanting to get into better shape as I am around that same 250 range but I am also extremely lazy and poor.

I'd love that stick, but I only want to lose like 8-10 pounds. Like this idea a lot though

How would we verify everyone's total?

There would have to be an official weigh-in somewhere and then the results would have to be an official weigh-in as well.

I would be fine with an honor system between everyone. I mean come on, is someone lame enough to cheat in a weight loss challenge?

A lot of you guys are talking about 250 this and that...making me feel bad about being 218 and wanting to lose it...

But I can lose weight pretty quickly....not uncommon for me to lose 7-10 lbs in a week.

Other option would be that the Final Four is on April 3rd. We could make a little
event out of it and someone could bring a scale. I am all for the honor system
though, and I know not everyone can get together. Just throwing out an idea.

got in a contest two years ago at work and a lady changed her initial weight by 10 pounds to make it look like she lost a higher percentage than the lady who finished first. All for about 100 bucks.

I'm cool with an honor system. I'm about 220 right now.

No he watches what he eats like a hawk. Almost no fat, chicken only at most red meat once a week. Salad every day and eats one meal a day. He went from close to 400 to 250 just by doing that.
