Maynard's 3 APC releases satiated this long time Tool fan. I actually liked the APC records a little better than Lateralus (too self indulgent). That said, none of the APC records could touch Undertow or Aenima.

Not a good rock album, but I don't think they intended it to be a "rock" record.

It was a statement album, anti-war, peace and love crap. If you take it as what it is, I think it's strong. The cover of What's Going On is a great interpretation of the original, and Counting Bodies sounds like early Tool.

Listened to the 1st 3 tracks, and I was surprised to read so many negative things about it.

If the rest of the album is as good as the beginning, it's their best since Undertow.
