I will be in attendance at 2 PM...Just stroll up and down Lincoln...

Getting much bigger than ever before.

Had Damen Avenie shut down this morning bringing in stuff and cops are in full force giving out tickets as Ald Shulter made sure all his streets are clean for his guests.

Of course Screwing the residents with $50 tickets for cleaning on every street

City of Chicago definte lack in Ribs. Not a fan of Smookin Woodys either. being that I have been working in the area for the past 2 years and spent about $100 a week there, when I walked in and told the guy the Burger was uncooked, I didn't think I would get a "What the fuck you talking about?" from the mexican Grill guy. havent been back. Place is Overrated, due to being one of the few smokehouses.

Was actually looking to drive down to memphis this year for memphis in May BBQ Competition....didn't make it

Dollar for Dollar here, I'll still get some Carsons

I've had the brisket at Smokin' Woody's and didn't think it was too shabby... not a fan of their special potatoes though.

I agree on Carsons, although I usually order the pork chops. Try Biasetti's on Irving Park just west of Ashland.

I really like Smokin Woodies, but I have never tried the ribs. In my opinion, the way to tell a good BBQ place is with the pulled pork. Smokin Woodies does the pork well enough that I rarely order anything else. I have had them cater parties and it was a hit. However, I understand the point about bad service. I have put good places on the banned list for bad service.

That was usually what I got for everyone. Pulled Pork Samwiches.

The ribs are just average.

Some decent ribs are Fat Willys off Western

Smokin' Woody's is mediocre at best--the best thing about it is the sweet potato fries. From what I understand, the place doesn't use a real aquarium smoker, but instead has some kind of smoke infusion device that doesn't really provide an authentic barbecue flavor. The pulled pork, in my estimation, is totally bland. Having lived in the South for several years, I can tell you this place would last about six weeks (and that's being generous) in even the most culinarily deficient barbecue towns south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

A much better barbecue alternative is Honey1 on Western near Fullerton. Much better pulled pork (still not great, though), good ribs (call ahead to get a fresh slab), and very good rib tips.

I'm no rib expert, but I like the ribs at The Gale Street Inn on Milwaukee (just north of Lawrence). It's got a supperclub type of feel. Stiff drinks and the ribs are pretty darn good.
