Post subject:  slayer & lamb of god this past weekend....

alright...
so, i've never been to a concert where there were religious protesters. so, that was odd. apparently there weren't any at the chicago shows, but this being milwaukee....
and another thing, where the hell do these freaks hide? the concert go'ers...holy crap. some of these people....wow. all the goths have grown up and turned into an amalglam of gothey metal punk things....
the number of slayer tatoos was staggering. tatoos are what they are, but to get a band name tat across your stomach or above your breast line?

so....eagles ballroom. it's basically the aragon, but shaped like an egg.
and instead of the stage being at the tip of the egg, it's in the center. and it's domed as well. so, the sound sucked ass....just like the aragon!

but the shows by mastadon, children of bodom, log, and slayer, were all really good. log were off, on a couple of songs, but i think they were having stage and monitor sound issues by the way the guitarists were reacting to the stage sound guy.
I met Willie Adler (guitar player for lamb of god) by chance, after the show. so, that was kinda cool for me.

all in all....i have made the decision that 6 hour metal shows are not in the cards for me anymore. i just can't handle them at 31 with my back the way it is. two-three bands, i'm o.k., but five is just too damn much metal and sweat and beer chilled through cold plate coolers at $6 each....
i'm over it.

that being said, i can't wait to see lamb of god when they tour again in the fall for the new album!!!!
