Lived in this city/state my entire life. Still, nothing I hate more than scraping my fucking windshield in the winter.

What are your methods? I've seen defrosting sprays, heated scrapers, car covers....

I need a garage. :(

The palace in South Shore had a heated garage, and I loved every day of it. People would always ask me about the best part of my building and that would be the first thing I'd say, no question.

I have a snowbrush

I stand outside scraping the windshield while the vehicle warms up.

I suggest you buy one, and quit whining.

Thank you! I've loved every minute of this winter. If every winter was like this I would be as happy as Ugueth in a room full of candles.

I agree with what Bernstein was saying yesterday. Even when the shit hits us, which I'm sure it will, still a fantastic winter with this extra month of awesome weather.

Oh, start your car, turn on your defrost, scrape, drive.

My guess is May and June may be a little unseasonably cold. That's fine. I'll make that deal every year.

It's always best to park in the garage. That's the warmest place on her body. Make sure you take everything with you when you leave.

2011's March, April, and May were dreadful. Cold, rainy, cloudy...just awful. Maybe this stretch is making up for that.

If you're parking outdoors you just gotta handle it, man. You just scrape the motherfuckers.
Keeping tire pressure properly set with this weather sucks. You can lost a pound of air each 10 degrees of temp drop for most tires. So you're good today but Saturday your pressure could drop 5 lbs and set off your low pressure guage and you're adding air in single digit temps.
Sucky. But it's Chicago man.

If you can, park next to a building or under a tree. That can help keep frost off your glass. Our driveway runs between our house and the neighbor's. Our winter rules include keeping cars parked between the two buildings. That keeps us from having to scrape on all but the coldest mornings.

Dudes who drive minivans are the scariest m'fers on the roads. I don't know if they are trying to overcompensate for driving a minivan so they drive it like they are Dale Jr. or if because they are driving a minivan they have lost all will to live so they just let it all hang out but they make me incredibly nervous. At least they are men so they have more fast twitch muscles than women so their reflexes are better.

Unless you are running late and behind him.

Then he goes 45 on the highway next to a truck that's going 47

Just make yourself a pot of coffee at home. Pour a cup for the ride, pour the rest on your windshield.

Here is what to do in the morning:

Go outside and start your car, crank up the heat and defroster. Go back inside and eat breakfast and do your morning routine of getting ready. By the time you come back out to your car, it will be toasty warm and the ice and frost has melted off your windows.

Buy a garage and that way you can have poker games in your garage and invite pantless cretins from the internet to your house.

And your car will be on the other side of town, but don't let that small detail stop you.
