I've never understood the Irish dancing "industry". This is basically a peasant dance that nostalgic americans spend thousands of dollars on dresses and hair in the hopes of winning competitions that will send their kids to Ireland to lose in contests against the Irish. I guess there is little chance of CTE so that's good.

Well it's a good sport for HRH to be in and keeps her active. She has also formed some great friendships because of it and the older kids are great role models for her her in dance, school, and in life.

Just thought that some people would like to come out and watch them as well have some good food and beverages.

What activity would require more fitness, strength, and endurance?

A round of golf, or doing Irish Dancing for 3 hours straight?

No, baseball requires speed, agility, endurance, etc...

None of which are required in golf.

Easiest way to make golf more exciting.

A timer should be set at 60 minutes. The golfer has that much time to complete his round. If you don't make it, you're disqualified. I would consider golf a sport is this was added.

Walking a round of 18 holes requires all of these. Doing this 4 days in a row (which is what the pros do) requires this.

hmmm, something we agree on

Aside from the silliness of calling it a sport, the point of friendships gained and lessons learned is valid, in my experience. And it usually is a family friendly good time when competing on the local levels. The nationals and international competitions are intense, however.

FWIW the nostalgic Americans often win. As do the English. And occasionally the Irish.

It's all good. There are some families that do push their kids to the brink of exhaustion. We just do all these shows because Tora just loves to dance and the more she does she gets really proud of her self and just generally enjoys it.
