looks like I have a contract on my house. closing in mid-November.
the plan was to move up north and work for my dad. so, dad calls today to tell me that some projects were put on hold and they may not be able to hire me until the spring.

f*cking awesome.
i'm so pissed off right now.

Congrats on the house. The market's been a bitch all year (nothing is moving in Evanston right now) so you SHOULD be happy!

Sucks about thejob though...

Bummer about the job. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding another one if you choose to do so. I'm sorry your plans have been changing so much, it does suck. Maybe something good will come out of those changes. :?

Great news about the house. That will be better for you.

Doug congrats on the house. Since it's family, one would hope you and dad can figure something out, but I don't know your situation. My wife is banging on me to look at a house in the next burb over this weekend so I might be going through the same thing.

Too bad you're not in the North family or the Maxfield family or even the Steve Dahl family - then you'd have a guaranteed job with your relatives!
Thank you, I'm here all week.

The problem is they may have to layoff some folks......
So, he can't really hire his son 2 weeks later.
It is all very sudden and unexpected.

The worst is that i'll still buy up north and have to commute south.

Don't forget CBS boss Michael Damsky hiring his daughter Hillary at B96. A media blog is ripping them for being in a story on CBS2 with Sylvia Gomez last week but neither she nor they ever identified themselves as CBS Employees - it's called Full Disclosure/Conflict Of Interest!

You are correct. Also, there is a pretty good restaurant attached to a bar called The Annex at Rts 45 & 83. The name escapes me right now.

Will you then be Doug from Mundelein or will you be Doug from E.P. of Mundelein like the Los Angeles Angels of Anneiheim or Woodridge Ryan of Aurora. :? These are not questions to take lightly.

i think i will continue to be doug in evergreen park....seeing how that is how i'm "known."

however, i will change the "location" here, for my user info once it is official.

the best part...8 minute commute to new work....4.7 miles bitches!

Stink,
funny....my mom was essentially saying the same thing, minus the "tang" part.
Morgan's, Mickey Finn's, Flatlanders, Half Day Inn, Cubby Bear North, and whatever place that we went yesterday on Butterfield and Rte. 137.

Mickey Finn's is a great hangount and their beer is pretty good. Haven't been to Club 21 in a few years, use to be a good place for the barely 21 crowd.

Ryan,
I grew up in Fox Lake on the water, so that northern area is not unfamilar to me.
