I would recommend this program to any serious baseball fan. I've gone for the past five years and it's always pretty good. Hell, Gary from Evanston even made an appearance last year and asked a dumb ass question.

Was it about Tim Wallach?

I forget what it was, but I remember it was stupid. I heard the voice and I knew it was Gary. Then I saw the Expos cap.

What time shall we meet before hand for pre film mood enhancement?

I've got it all figured out now. Gary From Evanston is the father of Sini. The similarities are so obvious now.

i have no idea who that dude is. i got into baseball in 2001 because a friend of mine (now professor fo economics @ the university of kentucky) needed an extra for his mlb.com fantasy baseball league and i was presumed to be smart enough to figure it out... and i had this guy vladimir guerrero on my team, so when i actually saw the guy bat once on a national ESPN broadcast on july 4, 2001 i was like "holy shit this dude's badass, game over, that's my guy that's my team" and then i started finding out about the expos and vlad, and well, as time wears on it's just apropos that out of all the guys/teams i'd end up liking it was that pairing.... and off of first sight no less. evidently when i'm on point it doesn't take me long to figure out baseball legend and lore.

then in 2004 when the whole fighting walgreens aka natinals debacle came about, i stuck with my team and stayed an expos fan.... i have no idea what gary in evanston is on about, but hey if he can regale me with tales of tim wallach he can't be all bad, can he?

incidentally, i went to ask les about the HOF credentials of vladimir guerrero and he cut me off and said yes. i think terry tried championing the cause of vladimir guerrero for the HOF a couple years ago and that made me LOL

I was supposed to go see this with spmack and Regular Reader last year, but I was worried they would keep yelling at Stan Musial to bunt.

This sounds like it would be a great time. I love old baseball footage. I loved rain delay theater on WGN as a yute.

Is this appropriate for children Joe or am I going to get a bunch of cranky old fucks getting annoyed at the slightest sound? If so, this looks like a go. I'll wear a black white sox t shirt if I am going and be with kids so you know its me.

In my neighborhood of make believe this story ends with you bludgeoning Gary to death with a croquet mallet. :D

Would love to go with you guys to this. This looks sweet. Too bad I'm in hooterville.

A lot of the Block Cinema offerings looked cool also. I'll have to check around online and see if any of those are available.

Have fun.

Stupid me didn't read well and went on Friday with my family. No big deal as it is a short trip and had a lot of fun walking around the island at northwestern. I will be on vacation at the end of the week so I will not make it. It looks like fun.
