Yeah, there are less parkings spots than there are STHs, so there is a lottery every year where a fair amount of people don't get access to parking. Parking is about $50/game now also .... incredible. There are higher premiums on South Lot and Walden because of tailgating. Old people like the indoor garage. The lottery is a random selection of all of the lots, so you get some horse trading going on as well. |

There's a Metra Electric stop minutes from the Stadium. Parking issues solved. |

What's that, exactly? Dropping a spaceship on it? Baseball and football have completely different transportation usage and traffic patterns (except in Milwaukee). |

Curious Hair wrote: What's that, exactly? Dropping a spaceship on it? Seemed like you were complaining about a lack of parking which caused this problem. The same thing will happen at Wrigley if they just renovate it.

The gameday experience of a Cubs game isn't the same as that of a Bears game. I get the feeling that people would like to drive to the game and tailgate, but can't because there aren't enough spaces and it's probably kind of discouraged anyway (I don't know, never done a Bears game). On the other hand, part of the allure of a Cubs game is being in the neighborhood before/after the game, a neighborhood which is more conducive to transit than driving. |

They should allow parking and tailgating in the White Sox lots, and then have a shuttle buses over to Soldiers Field. Charge an extra few bucks a person to cover the costs of the buses. Its a short ride so even CTA or school buses would be fine. |

On the other hand, part of the allure of a Cubs game is being in the neighborhood before/after the game, a neighborhood which is more conducive to transit than driving. My guess is that if the city of Chicago leveled a city block in order to build a parking lot for tailgating that it would be packed for every game and it would become a celebrated Wrigley tradition. It's just that it doesn't exist. The point is that you really shouldn't complain about lack of parking options at Soldier Field if you are dead set against any option that would give the Cubs massive parking options. Soldier Field parking is limited for the same reasons that Cubs parking is limited. |
