Trying to gauge interest in putting together a 2 day 12 person Rydyer Cup event next season for the board. You would obviously need to be able to play both Saturday and Sunday (or I guess we could do it on consecutive weekends to avoid 2 straight days). I was thinking we would get two teams of 6, divided up equally based on self reported ability. Then we could do a 2v2 format on day 1 with alternate shot and/or best ball over the course of 18 holes (or 36 if everyone is feeling really ambitious). Follow that up with singles matches on sunday where the guys are matched up by ability. Anyone seriously interested? |

Kind of a neat idea. Count me in for the Steve Stricker bracket. |

Would be very interested, but a lot of it would depend my son's schedule. |

Cool idea. I would be interested but obviously would depend on when it gets scheduled for. |

As long as my schedule permits I am down. Mark me down. If we did it consecutive weekends, we could have a guy play just the one round. Kinda like sending Tiger to the bench! |

Should we try to do this around the BMW Championship at Conway Farms? Sept. 9th - 15th... I'm in...schedule permitting, or you could just mark me down for a 110. |

Prefer to do it sooner in the season. Also, some of us (myself included) probably want to attend the BMW so that weekend wouldn't work. I really want to see that course up close. |

Plus, this will take some time to put together and coordinate schedules. But, if it gets nice again in the next few weeks and you want to get a group out for some golf I'm up for it. |

Will there be a trophy? My friends and I used to do a Roller Hockey tournament every year, and award the Stanley Cone. It was a spray-painted construction cone. Make it happen Milk-Shakes. |

Mark me down as an alternate. I have an issue regarding a Perkins waitress that I need to discuss with Mrs. Dr. Ken first. |

Not in place of, just around...I plan on going. I did a lot of work there as a teen when it was being constructed. |

That said, I want this to be for people who play regularly, not guys who play once a year and think this will be fun. Not saying that you are in that latter group, just putting that out there. |

We're talking 8-11 months from now... I'm good from 140 yards and in. I just don't have any twisty hip/back motion to drive the ball. You might appreciate that... T-Bone, Dr. Ken and Frank can back me up. (pun). So, if it's a best ball... Besides, if you want to play only with Ugie, Chus, and T-Bone just say so. |

All I'm saying is that if you want to play in this you should be someone who appreciates the game and plays regularly. Not saying you have to be good. You can shoot a 110 and still play regularly. But, I don't want guys out there who are signing up like this is a bowling meetup. Golf isn't fun if you're out there with clowns who don't know what they are doing. I'm trying to weed out the rif raf. |

and just to clarify, by "regularly" I don't mean you have to play every weekend, just enough where you get some feel for your game. I would think at least a couple times a month unless you're one of those guys who plays once a year and goes out there and throws up a 77 in which case I have two things to say to you....#1, the rules don't apply to you and #2, what up partner! |

And if we come up a few short we can always go offsite and bring in a few friends. I'm sure we all got a buddy or two who would love to do something like this for a weekend. |
