I try to organize one a year. After Dr. went to Medieval Times, the only logical next step is Bristol (as mentioned in said thread).

Who's up for this? I can throw out a few dates. With bacon on them.

Do you dress up? Would I have to dress up?

How is the roast chicken?

Are double Grey Gooses less than $16?

the roasted legs are overrated and overpriced. go for the pies.

i'm sure their...vodka...is...outstanding. :D

The dress up at that place trends into the fetish. Some keep it to Renaissance wear. I didn't think that was the average though.

Bristol is great. We went a few years ago and had a great time. Thinking about going back this year. The kids still talk about Moonies' show.

Is that what you call dropping your pants in public?

he's great for the kids--so are barely balanced. actually BB is great for all ages, and even better for adults considering their humor.

just bring a lot of cash when you go because ATM lines are ridiculous. glad you enjoyed your time reason. if you do go this year go august 2nd! :) i'll buy you a turkey leg.

I heard the after hours at the Ren Faire is quite the debauched event.

like I wrote earlier, the whole faire is a double entendre. On its face, it is kind of a fun, kid friendly place. However, it seems like anyone walking around is in on the secret that it is something more.

I worked there as a 15 yr old yoot back in the day...it was quite the swinging drugfest back then...can only imagine it's worse now.

I have friends that dress up and go every weekend...mostly because they're photography nerds and there is no shortage of people watching and photo ops. I go once a year...do not dress up...take the kids. It's an expensive day, but could be worse. I enjoy it the one day a year I attend, and my kids are about the same.

We went this past Saturday 7/18 and were forced out from weather by 4:00. My GF got dragged up on stage by Moonie....she absolutely hates attention so was NOT pleased...I of course thought it was a riot.

Have fun if you guys meet...like I said, once a year is enough for me and I've already attended.

same here, delaney. i can do it once a year but we usually go for almost the entire day. and by then i've had enough. although once i'd like to do a renquest or pub crawl...change things up a bit. when you bring kids it adds something too because the first time i went was as a kid and i had a blast.

Moonie is great. Mud show is good. Ded Bob show...for some reason my kids think he's a riot. Vegetable justice is funny for a while. Joust is cool. Turkey legs are delicious.

It's a fun day. There are some real special folks that just take it way too seriously.
