That's right, folks. Our very own mcbrides has been gracious enough to invite The Blend back to play some rock and/or roll at his fine Plainfield establishment! We will play three full sets, starting around 8pm and finishing up well after 11pm. Come on up for good food, great music, and who know what else.

Some guy dressed in a suit walked in during our 3rd set. He goes up to my Dad and asks if we can play Suzie Q. He said we don't know that but we know other CCR songs, and the guys said it had to be that one. So we picked a key and just kinda worked it out right there on the spot. Turns out his girlfriend was named Suzie and he proposed to her right in the middle of the song. I thought that was pretty cool.


Mr mcbrides as always was a most gracious host. It was one of our better shows to date and despite what spany may tell you their support of my mutliple musical adventures at Katie's does not go unappreciated.

I will be in the proposing business in a few months.

Talking with the GF about when and where. I went over the spectrum of "no's" and "don't even think about its", for locations and situations.

She says somewhere private and special, but there has to be somebody there to take pictures!

The owner of the bar is making fun of it, in case you missed it....I think I can also then make fun of the fact, a guy walks up to you "In a suit" and asks you to play a song you dont know, telling me he made zero prep for this moment....like I said, Lucky girl.

Donspiracy, why dont you throw that scenario on the GF? Tell us the response....

"Honey, I would like to go to Mcbrides....I will then go to the house band and ask them to play a song they dont know, then I will propose to you while you sit on that nivest bar still in da joint....I will wear a suit though"

Let us know , how that goes.

Congrats Don! One of my friends brothers got married and popped the question while they were on a walk on a forest preserve trail. A photographer was hiding a bit up the trail from them and snapped a few pics. Seeing as you guys seem to bike or jog somewhat often, something like that might work for ya. Good luck and enjoy it all!
