Example of terrible sports bar was when chelis chili opened on Madison! The Worst

Had a hot dog cart and a bin of chili in a warehouse with all the crap from chelis basement + the beer distrubution crap on the wall. His dad sat there took the cash home for a year or so and closed the doors.

There's one in the fox valley ice arena in Geneva. Nice to have one there but agree wouldn't make it a destination otherwise. Fan-freaking-tactic compared to what is usually around and really convenient.

T-Bone, it was called Longhorns. It went out of business. Probably because it sucked.
The bull was vandalized, someone sawed off his horns. kinda shitty.
It was going to be a strip club, dude spent a ton renovating it and went broke.
So... the owner of the building decided to make a run of it for himself. I guess he's some kind of renowned chef or something.
Hey Bigfan, why not come up with a better name and sell it to him?
Kind of a weird ass complaint... the name of the place? What kind of sick bastard thinks of things like that? INSANE!

No complaint at all, just enjoy the constant search for the next "ROOKIES" or "THE _____ INN"

First place I was involved with I wanted to name it CHAOS, Can't Hardly Agree On Shit, instead the geniuses majority partners named it THE DAME AVE BAR AND GRILL (The night beofre we opened!), later to Become the Riverview and now something likes Petes? (Sold within the past year)

Haven't been there, and I don't even know where it's at. I know there's a place in Glendale Heights or Carol Stream on North Ave. called Shotz, but I don't think that's what you're talking about. The Shotz place looks like a dive, and I haven't been there either.

It's at the southwest corner of 59 and Batavia Rd. in Warrenville, behind the McDonald's.

I went there a few times a decade or so ago because I worked with a bartender at her day job and she was supposedly going to "hook us up" with free stuff, but I think that amounted to extra napkins and some free maraschino cherries. In any event, I witnessed the Bartman game there!

Rookies was terrible. For a "gastropub" their food was garb. Cheap beer though and okay outdoor seating. R.I.P.
