You make canoes on Thanksgiving? A little on the nose and appropriationy, don’t you think?

Roasted duck. Tastes way better than bland turkey.

Soup, relish, mashed potatoes, and cornbread are done. My stuffing is in progress. I'm also in the midst of preparing a bread-based dish with stock and mirepoix. Hey, buddy!

Gotta do my family's Thanksgiving on Sunday because my sister is going up to her in-laws in denisdman country. Cranberry relish and cranberry cornbread are both done. Squash soup, mashed potatoes, and stuffing (pre-bake) tomorrow. Cheddar cornbread, sweet potato casserole, sprouts/fennel/leek Sunday morning plus baking the stuffing. Lot of work considering I got the consolation Thanksgiving but hey.

Turkey and starch make for wonderful naps.

Mrs. BigW gets to cover everything else, but I believe it will be Mashed Potatos, Cranberries, and some kind of broccoli dish.

I use sourdough bread. Not sure whether it makes a difference once all the garlic and stock are mixed in, but I'd like to think it does.

I've thought about mixing some wild rice in there but always decide against it. It's labor-intensive enough as it is.

I'd welcome an asteroid just to get rid of the world's cranberries.
