Here is A new ONE for bIGGIE to check out

from Crains.

Restaurateur Adolfo Garcia (Pearl Tavern and Son of a Butcher) and the hospitality group represented by Carmen Rossi (Hubbard Inn, Barn & Company and Pomp & Circumstance) have joined forces for a new pizza pub and live music menu in Wrigleyville.

The venue, called Heating & Cooling, plans to open near Wrigley Field on baseball's opening day, April 5.

"For the first time in almost a century, Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs are undergoing major changes and reform," Garcia said in a release. "The popular stretch of Clark Street is also going through modernization for a full rebrand and buildout. We are excited to be a part of the neighborhood's transformation and to introduce this craft pizza pub concept."

Located a block south of Addison Street on Clark Street, the venue will include an open pizza kitchen, outdoor patio and live music stage.

Heating & Cooling plans to offer “all-American-style” pizza—large slices, thin, crispy crust and fresh ingredients such as premium flour imported from Italy and locally sourced and house-made sauces and toppings. “It's simply thin-crust pizza done exceptionally well,” he says.

The decor will feature photographs by rock 'n' roll photographer Paul Natkin, a Chicagoa

They will be open everyday, from noon to close from April 1 until December. Then they will close during the day and on Mondays in January, while the partners decide if they want to fund the place for another year of the lease. None of them will want to do it nd out of nowhere the windows will be papered over and a NEW concept will be on the table.

Now, if the Pizza is excellent and they have some some great carryout or a To GO window, they might live on being a bar and cash out with some good pizza late at night, better than Big G's or DIMO's who cant make a slice of pepperoni because that too conformist!

An open pizza kitchen? I hope it's all supervised.

they could easily build a wall to enclose the kitchen. always had the feel the guy who owns Flaccos was lost , even if he owned other places. It was a bad layout...very nicely done, but bad. And he hired a real expensive design firm and big GC company to do the work. Not common in the bar industry.

When the place out your back door has construction paper on the windows so you cant see in and the sign from the previous tenant saying SEE YA, doesnt take a CSI investigation to get 2-1 odds

While I assume a bar isnt too far from Spiegs place, imagine having a place in the lobby that you dont need a coat to go to!

There was a place in Janesville called Industrial Pizza. I think it was in a converted warehouse. Turns out no one wanted to eat industrial pizza, so it went out of business in like three months. Also, it was in Janesville, Rockford's double-A farm team.

maybe they can offer tourists a taste of the local flavor and become the home of the world famous rat sausage pizza. lord knows there's enough of them out there to cut down on overhead costs while adding in some ingenious foodie/hipster cred.

btw is that one pizza place by the reggae bar on clark still there? i can't remember it's name for the life of me, but i ate there once and it was pretty good. i've never been back, and i wouldn't be surprised if it eventually went the way of marisa's (RIP. those 2 slices and a can of pop for $5 on gamedays were awesome. white pizza ftw)

love bars on tv shows in the 70's/80's
1 beer on tap
like 3 liquor bottles on the shelf
back then people didn't need 100 different beers on draft !
