I just tasted the absolute worst beer in my life.
Sam Adams Chocolate Bock. Tastes like someone melted half a Hershey bar into the bottle way too over powering.

That's probably not a bad idea.

As a counterpoint I love Sam Adams Winter. Perfect beer for the season. Plus here in the QCA if you ever get out here try Bent River. Great Oatmeal and Uncommon Stout.

Sam Adams winter is indeed tasty stuff. Love having a few on a cold nite with a fire going.

It's one of the only Winter/Xmas beers I like.

Sam winter is indeed good. I looked at that and Fat Tire today before the game. Went with FT.

Grabbed a 4-pack of Stratus on Saturday. That's a damn tasty beer.

If anyone ever makes it down to LaSalle County, check out a nanobrewery from my hometown of Ottawa called Radium City. They only bottle and it's not on tap anywhere, but they make some amazing beers. Usually only bottle one at time. Their red and white IPAs are great.

I’ll keep an eye open. Sold in stores or only direct? I’m through lasalle/Peru/Ottawa corridor a few times a month.

Apparently on tap a few places that I’ve been too around the brewery. Even a place in Morris that I wandered into one day while my kids had an appointment.

Nice. I used to buy it at Herman's Liquors in Ottawa, but I saw Peru Hyvee sells it as well.

Yeah. That Hyvee has a decent liquor department. If I’m in that area I’m more a Rudy’s guy but I’ve gotten some decent stuff in hyvee.

Hamm's is still good, tastes just like it did when grandpa would give me sips while watching the Hawks on channel 44 at his house in Hegewisch.

So this supposed beer guru said that the higher the alcohol content in beer the closer it should be to room temp when you drink it? You buy it or no?

I've heard that before but I just can't drink warm beer.

American Beer no warm no. I have had some very good German and English stuff that was cellar temp, was good.

partook in annual tradition of bcbs release at sheffields on "black wednesday"

i dunno, bcbs is alright. i don't like the finish this year. it's way to saccharine.

i was able to taste all the variants except northwoods and barleywine. i despise barleywine as its always waaaay too sweet. so no loss there.

the reserve was no different than the standard bcbs. feel bad for the suckers who waited and paid for a bottle on friday. the prop was the best of the bunch (not a coffee drinker so my opinion is slanted with that one).

i don't have a connection or am a psycho about bcbs. so showed up at costco 10 minutes from open and was able to grab 4 reg and 1 northwoods for family in ohio.

i read on BA that binny's LP was an absolute shit show. no surprise

beer losers are the worse kind of savages. with so many breweries there is no beer worth waiting hours for. idiots.

I got a ton of bottles to bring home. 6 regular, 2 barleywine, 1 Prop, 1 coffee, and 1 Northwoods.

I drank all of the variants on tap or from the bottle yesterday at John's in Winfield. Black Friday is a beautiful thing.

BCBS has no equal.
