Good luck greg.

On beer stuff, VSOJ definitely lived up to the hype for me. One of the best barleywines I've ever had. I could see someone saying it goes overboard on the sweetness but for me it never really got very cloying or hard to drink.

Having my first one this year. Tastes perfect.

Probably shouldn't have brushed my teeth before popping one open.

Last year about half of mine were terrible and the other half were pretty good. I think quality control slipped.

Try skipping the Chipotle burrito bowls instead.

Now that’s crazy talk.

If I can make it to mid-December without beer, going the entire year should be easy.

WTF?

Why would you do this to yourself?

Don't be a quitter, Greg!

Just kidding. Good luck.

Goodness, why Greg?

Especially during the upcoming tax season!

They had a pallet of Hopslam six packs at Woodmans. Guess that is what I'll be drinking Sunday for the games. Haven't had any in a long time.

Just finished up a trip to Portland, OR and was able to visit quite a few breweries in between hikes.

It's fascinating to see how dominant the NEIPA has become as the style was all over brewery tap lists. A year and half ago when I visited there was a token NEIPA here and there. And those NEIPA offerings were essentially the traditional bitter piney NW-IPA with a hazy look.

I was most disappointed with Deschutes' taproom. I expected to sample beers exclusive to Portland/Bend/Oregon but the list consisted of beers available in Chicago. They're all tasty beers but it wasn't worth visiting.

Great Notion has the formula down for appealing to the current beer market. Their tap list was majority NEIPAs and pastry-stouts. Highly recommend stopping by here.

Ruse was a smaller brewery with seating for around 30 people. Their beers were fantastic. My favorite brewery of the trip.

West Coast Grocery was my other favorite. The brewpub set-up was brilliant. The beers were even better. Their Doppelbock was fantastic. Malty, sweet and smooth as hell.

Highly recommend visiting Portland for beers and nature. Unfortunately, it's not the easiest to get from CHI. Flight availability and prices aren't ideal but expected given it's not a highly trafficked route.

I didn't have any complaints on Sunday. It is far from a favorite for me and I am sure others have more experience with it and could tell if this year was a
good one or not. I had 5 over the course of the two football games and I thought it was pretty good stuff. I think it was $16 for a six pack so I thought
that was a bit excessive for what I got but it was kind of a treat for Championship Sunday.

It's been great this year, and I had to pour some of it out last year it was so bad that it wasn't worth drinking about half of the cans I had and they were all bought at the same time.

Dad Jokes also pretty good. I'm actually not a huge fan of Only Child. They do a lot of weird brews and do not really have a flagship beer that is always available. They're ok....just not as good as I'd like them to be.

Light the Lamp in Grayslake....they fucking rock.

I thought this year's Hopslam wasn't as boozy as some of my least favorite versions but not as bitter as my favorites.

Dad Jokes felt kind of weak to me. I liked the Don’t Tell Mom the Baby Citras Dead and Together We’ll Rule the Galaxy.

Half my six pack seemed over carbonated and tasted like bad home brew, the other half reminded me how long it's been since I had a DIPA.

Picked it up at Binny's in Bloomington. 15 for a 4 pack but it's worth it. Good beer.

I'm looking through beers on a distributor's website. Find a porter that would work, click on for more info on the brewer (they are local, I won't name them.) Get to this, um, passage.

Nestled in the bucolic bosom of suburban Redacted, Redacted Brewing Company is focused on our vision of high-quality and inclusive craft beer. We’d like to tell you a story about brewing that is at times familiar, even comfortable. An alcoholic deja-vu, but with an undercurrent of weird, something different. Perhaps not so extreme, just a touch of liquid vertigo. Our goal is to create an experience of the highest quality with a spirit of innovation that will keep your palate challenged and your senses intrigued. Everything we make is brewed by, and for, fans of craft beer.

Yeah, so I'm never buying anything from you.

Why do people put shit writing like this in their promotional material?

Still looking for a good local vanilla porter or cream stout.
