Favorite midwestern brewery by far. MANY other good beers come out of there.

I tried a IIPA from Odell Brewery in CO this weekend called Myrcenary. It was 9.3% ABV but just really wasn’t as tasty as I was expecting. A disappointing choice

Marz Yakool is pretty much the best beer ever
it's also a sturdy 8% like a lot of their stuff but in no way tastes like it
it's a strawberry ale but the strawberry is dialed in perfectly, it's not too sweet or too strong at all

I am sure people are genuine in their love of fruity beers. I have had a few and said sure not bad. But you are right in that I would chose wine or something else if I wanted to consume a fruit like beverage for an evening. Beer should taste like beer more or less.

For a majority of the past 50-70 years that meant beer tasted like flavorless garbage. There are amazing fruit beers that are brewerd from breweries over a 100 years old to just a few years old.

No, Bud Light Lime or Leinie's Summer Shandy are not fruit beers.

I get it. Just not my preference really. I have some I never would have ever thought of like cactus and said nice. But still will grab a Warsteiner.

Edit: I do like coffee stout though.

Good for you. That's about two and a half months longer than I thought you'd go

Lexical Gap by Pollyanna is my absolute favorite iteration of a west coast IPA. I literally can't believe how good it is.

Thought I'd seen some positive reviews of Jai Alai IPA on here so when I stumbled across a sixer I pulled the trigger. Looking forward to giving it a try.

I enjoy a good radler, but only from a place that knows how to do it, like Hofbrauhaus in Rosemont. But I do enjoy some of the flavored beers and the sours, at least those with low IBU. I had a couple of good ones when I was in Miami last summer for the Cubs series, because the south Florida brewers we talked with stay away from the high IBU types because of the heat and humidity.

Cigar City is excellent stuff. I plan to have CC Florida Cracker in the house at all times this summer. I'm also hoping that their seasonal wheat ale with lemon will be distributed in NC this fall.

I'm slowly working my way through a 4-pack of Tryptich Because Stout #4. I prefer #5, but #4 is not bad.

I'm a fan. I'll keep it in a regular rotation as long as I can find it. I like the slight hint of orange and it does have a nice kick to it.

Going to Three Floyds this weekend to get some beers to go for a few beer aficionados. I've only had Zombie Dust and Gumballhead. What else should I get from them? Anything else worth getting?

There was some Space Station one that was pretty good. Robert the Bruce is pretty good. Yum Yum sucks. I wish I could tell you, every time I order from them they are out of everything except Gumball and Zombie.

If you are going that way check out 18th street brewing in Gary. They have good beer.

Space Station Middle Finger. Definitely pretty good.

Alpha King is also good. LazerSnake is decent. I liked War Mullet.

Yum Yum is pretty not good.

They have a good collaboration Hazy IPA with a brewery called Warpigs. The name of the beer is Foggy Geezer, but I don't know if you can get it there. They are switching to cans pretty soon, too.

Yeah, I keep seeing it on the beer list when I go to Timothy O'Tooles in Gurnee, but every time I order it, they're out...I love hazy IPA's...I really want to get my hands on it.

I’m pretty sure Mariano’s sells the FFF/WarPigs cans in sixers.

Foggy geezer is pretty good. It’s been a while since I’ve had Floyd’s but I’ve seen it start showing up out here now (alpha King and Gumball) so maybe add it back into the fridge soon now that summer is coming.

FFF sprays to all fields, more so than most “local” breweries. Cheer Team was my favorite of theirs, but it looks like it’s not in stock at the moment. Sorry, Rick. Will send thoughts and prayers.
