I miss Pepe's. Not enough to go to Waukegan (closest to me), but I do miss it.

That's why we went. She wasn't in the mood for BBQ and we don't find ourselves near one very often (we used to go to one on Ashland and Grace when we lived in Uptown.) We did find it amusing and cool on our South Suburban excursion that A.) there are so many Arby's. b.) Many of them still have the old-school big hat neon sign, and c.) all of them are promoting not simply "Gyros," but "Greek Gyros."("Hey I wonder if there's anywhere to get Italian Pizza around here.") [JORR: I shared your Gyro story from Sunday with my wife. She more-or-less correctly predicted the punchline.]

The Arby's "gyro" is meant to appeal to the Karens and IMU's of the world who are afraid of anything that isn't a big franchise, but also want to seem like they like diverse food.

If I'm going to Arby's, it's because I want a beef and cheddar and curly fries. No other reason.

Pepe's doesn't have sour cream, it's 'sour topping'

like how expensive is sour cream ? you can buy a gallon tub of it in the store for 2$

Is their cheese sauce "cheese product"?

If you're in the mood for Mexican next time you're down this way TS, Zacataco's at 67 & Pulaski is second to none in the city. For real.

Their location in Tinley is excellent.

Not that it matters but 104th and Roberts is Palos Hills not Palos Heights. (People often get the Heights, Hills, and Park mixed up).

If you want much better eating options just go to Orland.

You are correct. I always know that Park is the far one, the other two I tend to mix up. Same with the 17 different Barringtons.

You have me wrong. I'm the first in line to try any new Mom and Pop restaurant that opens. Literally the first in line at the very first Naf Naf Grill, when it was a small restaurant opened in the shittiest piece of real estate you could imagine. It was just a single Israeli-American, his buddy and one or two cooks in back.

I'm not ashamed to like certain fast food and fast casual chains, but I just love food. I also love intimate restaurants - I used to go to Vera a lot before it closed.

Nana in Bridgeport is also another one that I enjoy, but since it is practically in Kentucky it is harder to get there often.

Everything is good at Naf Naf, except the lentil soup.
