Counterpoint: Deerfield Bakery kind of sucks. I’ve never had something from there I thought was as good as or better than any other bakery. It’s mostly fine at best.

Jarosch is the apex suburban bakery (NW division). Those Germans do it right.

I won't argue with that. I agree that Deerfield is fine, but it's no better than any other good bakery. And it definitely doesn't stand out in any department. Those coffee cakes are legit, but I've never had anything else form there that blew me away.
