And I agree, SomeGuy. DQ burgers are pretty tasty. They're no Hardees Mushroom and Swiss but they'll suffice.

When it comes to shroom & Swiss burgers Hardee's is the best hands down. My little shithole town closed the Hardee's (still plenty of heroin though! ) so it's DQ when that craving hits.

I've been to a Cold Stone once or twice, same with a Culver's (though I did design the Culver's on 92nd and Harlem). They're quite good, but I'm set in my white trash ways.

From what I understand White Castle was the first national burger chain. Unfortunately, it's all been downhill since then. Even Harold and Kumar couldn't save that place.

I would recommend skipping White Castle forever and going to Steak and Shake instead.

I've had ~8-9 Shamrock Shakes since they've returned, & only 3 of them were bad. I say they add more than enough mint flavoring. Had a couple that were perfect. But really they're hit or miss.

I think Oberweiss is the best of the local chains.

I have driven the 1 hour each way for Kopp's burgers and custard.

Stopped at DQ on our way home from some shopping today- fed the family of 4 for $16 (with coupon). The girls liked the Iron Grill sammiches, and the fries were great!

So.....Smashburger just opened up about 2 minutes away. Is it prepared the same way as Steak and Shake burgers? Menu has much more to offer the S and S. Just curious on the quality.

I don't overrate it myself. I think the shakes they have there are very good. The Happy Hour is a much better deal than Sonic because it includes shakes for under $2. They also have a lot of coupons that sweetens the deal to go there.

As far as the food goes, I think their fries are ridiculously small and the last burger I had was pretty greasy. I don't think their service is that good and I generally don't sit in their restaurant. But as far as shakes I think they're probably in the top 5 places for milk shakes. Behind Oberweis of course and maybe the Portillo's chocolate cake shake.

I swear to god the Steak and Shake people are playing some incredibly long, convoluted prank with those late term abortions they call "french fries". Fuckers are ice cold a minute after they are brought to your table.
