Just built my new charcoal grill...maiden voyage Saturday with some flank steak, burgers, brats, and anything else I decide to light on fire.

Every time we make homemade CPP it seems dry. Do you have a special recipe?

First attempt smoking. Halfway there on a 4lb shoulder. I really hope it doesn't suck. Haha

Burgers.

80% ground beef, seasoned with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Topped with red leaf lettuce, tomato, raw yellow onion, all piled on an onion roll.

Boneless pork chops tonight.

They are currently marinading in a mixture of soy sauce, vegetable oil, water, garlic powder, brown sugar, ground ginger, and black pepper.

Too hot outside? All the more reason to not turn on fire in the house.

This marinade was unbelievable. These were probably the best pork chops that I have ever made.

2 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 tbsp water
1⁄2 c. soy sauce

On the next moderately reasonable day, it may be oysters (first time) & hanger steak from Mariano's around these parts.

For 7.99 a pound (or even $5 more), they were the most tender steaks I've had in awhile.

Too hot for cooking in the house for sure. I don't mind grilling when it's hot. I grill when its snowing or raining, so hot and humid ain't bad.

Grilled cheese and pasta salad (that I made yesterday). I was a popular dad today. For at least 10 minutes.

Congrats on the temporary popularity (I understand that  ).

My neighbors get mildly pissed when I grill in the dead of winter (jealousy and envy, jealousy and envy), but 80% humidity and plus 85 temps suggest a take out route for me.

Now only if my damned Directv HD box had cooperated (long customer service call manana)

I grill year round, winter, snow, whatever...I can dress for cold...but this 90 degree & high humidity weather isn't for me. I hate it.

Nas calls you less conservative than he. I'll simply settle for agreeing with you on this. :D

I have AC.

If you heat up the house, your AC has to work harder. It's working hard enough on a day like today.
