Was looking for a place to eat Christmas Eve and found this place on Yelp. It's on Armitage near Logan Square area. HOly shit was this place great!
Fancy tapas style/communal dining Mexican place. But at a very reasonable price. small plate appetizers for sharing and then family style main courses meant to be shared. Since there were only 2 of us we only got one main course so had a tough decision, but in the end went with the lamb shank. Served with homemade tortillas it was delicious. Appetizers we went with a ceviche, shrimp taquitos and goat meatballs in a black mole sauce. All 3 were great.
Wasn't gonna get desert, but their chocolate cake was awarded best piece of cake award from Chicago Magazine. Sealed the deal when our 25 year old millenneal waiter told us that the pastry chef at the restaurant was probably his favorite pastry chef in the ENTIRE WORLD. So we got it and damn, it really was the best piece of chocolate cake we've ever had.
Place was pretty cheap too considering the entrees are meant to be shared and they range from $21-$29. Whole meal cost us $100 which included two $10 cocktails.
