My wife and I got one of these from her boss for Xmas this year that she bought from Sur La Table. Had no idea something like this even existed.
She even bought us a small cookbook that comes with tips on how to use it and keep it clean. Anybody ever hear of using this salt block method
before or better yet, anyone ever use one?

Lasts longer than a wood plank I assume. I would use it the same way.

I think you smash it with a hammer and sprinkle the bits on your steak.

Make sure you have the appropriate footwear.

I suggest the Himalayan walking shoes.

It’s recommended to melt a couple Hershey bars on it to help season it and break it in.

Sounds like a need created to sell a product. Hell, I bet the Himilayans don't even cook on a Himalayan salt block.

Don’t use water-based liquids or butters for cooking. Don't use soap. Heat gradually. burgers pork seafood and veggies are good on it.

This all sounds like good advice. The thing takes like an hour to heat up properly so you don't crack it. Appears to be an item where we use it
specifically when her boss comes over for dinner sometime this summer and I try it out while they are there.

Even the Hershey Kiss and the hitting the block with a hammer bit?

I made watermelon, basil and mozzarella toothpick one-bitey things that I served on a salt block. The saltiness got it on with the watermelon and the taste was pretty good.

I was kidding about the Hershey's kiss. No sane human being uses that on anything but desserts.
Smashing the block with a hammer is a better idea than cooking or grilling with Hershes kisses.
