In Vernon Hills close to the corner of Half Day and 22. Meeting an old friend over there for a bite to eat and a couple of beers this
weekend. Never even heard about it until I tried to figure a place to meet up. Anybody been in there? Good, bad, or forgettable?
They have a huge beer list that I will include a link to if anyone is interested. Just hoping to eat, watch some basketball and catch
up a bit. Supposedly they have hundreds of them on hand.... http://beerheadbar.com/beer_list/

Figured I would ask in case the place sucked and I could figure out an alternative.

It used to be called Beer Market and did not have food. I haven't been since they named changed and starting serving food, but it's a fine place. Should do the job for beers and pub grub.

There is also Half Day Brewery on Old Half Day Road, just east of 21.

You are right. I think Milwaukee is 21 which is what I meant. Used to be really familiar with Lake County back in the 90s but things have changed a lot in the last 20 years.

never heard of it, but there's an amazing little Italian deli/wood burning pizza place right there hidden in a little strip mall.

don't know if they sell beer, but the pizzas and italian specialties are awesome.

How did this turn out, T-Bone?

Is Beerhead any good? Nice beer list? Anything on tap, or was it all bottles and cans?

there's one in Elmhurst. there is a large beer list but a lot of it is bottles/cans. you can get mead, and bourbon county stout in a bottle.

the food isn't that great. they do have a really good soft pretzel that serves 3-4 people; and their pizza is good. outside of that, it's not worth it.

i prefer Red Arrow.

It was just ok. They had a large list and probably 25 or 30 on tap of all kinds of varieties. The rest were in bottles and cans.
Ordered a wrap and even that was just ok. I wouldn't recommend it other than a place to meet up which is what I was there for
in the first place. It was a bittersweet meeting as this is my oldest friend I have stayed in touch with through the years ( 30 years ),
and we chatted about some hard things including losses each of our families have had in the past for him and recently for me. He
also shared some sad news about his older brother that kept me up that night. We have vowed to get together quarterly if at all
possible as time just goes too damn fast. We won't be meeting again at Beerhead.

nice, what have you had there?

I've only been once and had a prociutto and mozzeralla sandwich which was really good. Also brought home some veggie lasagna which was delicious.

 I guess I didn't realize there was a Kuma's in VH now. Yeah I have heard all the hype so I should check it out, just don't make it down to that
area very often at all.
