This girl I follow on Twitter, Mary Wall Y'all, who is originally from Louisiana, talks about this shit all the time. According to her it is the greatest food you could possibly eat. She is very excited that one is coming to the Chicago area.

The one in North Riverside is slow as fuck. Like slower than Frontera Tortas over at T3 O'Hare.

Great reference. I wonder how many tortas have been adandoned by people who had to catch a flight and didn't realize it took 25 minutes to make a mexican sandwich?

Right across from Chick-Fil-A....they must be pretty confident in their product!

Heard their special sauce sucks, they have no BBQ sauce and it is expensive.

I have never had a problem at the T3 Frontera Tortas. A little pricey maybe. But not slow.

The chicken was flavorless. I did not try the lemonade. The sauce was really nothing special. It was like a thousand island dressing base with just a hint of cumin mixed into it. It wasn't spicy and certainly wasn't flavorful. Chick-fil-A is a hell of a lot better.

Just a recommendation since I mentioned Frontera Torta. There is a restaurant in Union Station in Denver Colorado that makes an excellent short rib sandwich. I certainly would have appreciated a little bit more meat on the sandwich. However the flavor was absolutely amazing. You can get a short rib torta from Rick Bayless' place at O'Hare. But let me say this after having the sandwich in Denver the one at O'Hare was quite disappointing.

There's one in Oak Lawn, too. 110/Cicero. Maybe RPB can give us the low down.

Tried it last night (I think they just opened).

Menu is even more limited than Chick fil A...it's basically just a question of how many chicken fingers you want.

The chicken is really good, and goes well with their signature "Cane sauce" (which is their only sauce). The crinkle fries were good (though not as good as CfA's waffle fries). The Texas Toast is tasty (tip: order both sides buttered), and the cole slaw was average. That's the entire menu.

They don't gouge you as much as other joints on soda, which are Coke products.

I noticed that their napkins feature a full color logo...struck me as being very expensive/unnecessary to produce.

i'm all for limited menus, but to only offer chicken fingers and 1 dipping sauce ?

seems like a stretch. i like chicken fingers like everyone else i'm sure, but i can't really say how often i'm deciding what to have for lunch and think "oh i want chicken fingers" . well i guess i can say, i never have

I heard some asshole camped out for 3 days before they opened that one because the first 25 customers got free fingers for a year . I didn't think leash was that hard up but hey, times are tough.

Like I said, Mary Wall loves Raising Canes. I'm gonna take her word for the quality. She's cute as hell too.

It was definitely high quality. The fact that they only offer like 5 items including sides probably allows them to keep costs down because it was reasonably priced. I got four strips, fries, slaw, Texas toast, Canes Sauce, and a drink for about 7 bucks. That's probably 10 at most fast food places. Even though it was very good, I can't imagine eating there often since they literally only have chicken strips for an entree.

I drove their float for the downtown St Patrick's Day parade and South Side Irish parade. It was all their corporate people, they seemed alright. I tried the food, it's pretty good for just being chicken fingers.

Did you beat them out of five bucks worth of Texas toast?
