Went out last week and we decided to just go to some place on LaGrange (there are like 40 restaurants between 143rd and 159th) and we tried Red Robin since her and I had never been.

Not sure what the deal with this place is. Its like a TGI Fridays but without any real theme.

Burger was fine. They had some interesting drinks. The Guiness milkshake was good.

Ill probably never go back but not bad for a chain type place.

There is one by me. I have driven past it hundreds of times, but I have never stopped.

Not bad for a once-in-a-while-spur-of-the-moment-thing, but it's another place where, while the burgers are decent, you may as well go to any locally-owned ma-and-pa joint and get one just as good for less.

It is ok. Never ending fries and an A-1 burger works.

Yes, the bottomless fries (in a literally bottomless holder) is a nice touch

I have a $25 gift card to this place burning a hole in my pocket and there is one a mile from my house but
haven't had an opportune time to use it. The burgers and fries are good but if I didn't have a gift card I
wouldn't consider going. If I am going to spend money at a chain I would rather go to Chilis to be honest.

This is the only thing I have ever seen about them being tops in a category

The portions are solid. If you're really hungry might be a good time to go.

Or just go and try the weird drinks.

I like Red Robin. When I was in Arizona,it was the only place I could find for about 5 miles. I have eaten at the one in Woodfield. They offer turkey burgers as substitutes, too.

Yeah, their burgers are bad. Kids seem to like it, but there are so many better choices out there.

The problem is RR is next to Rock Bottom. If it came down to those two, Rock Bottom wins. I know some people that work there, so I can get free beer.

Trying to remember the Rock Bottom menu when I went to one last year, but it didn't really seem to be the sort of place I'd compare to Red Robin...RB seemed to have a lot more diversity in the menu, whereas Red Robin was pretty much burgers burgers burgers.

I only compared them because they are next to each other.

Yeah, it's not very good. The only reason I would go to RB, is to see some people I know, and mostly likely score some free beers.

If push came to shove, I would just go to Two Brothers, and skip both of them.

When we were in Illinois, we lived in Bloomingdale right near the mall. Red Robin was in it right next to the movie theater. We would go there when we were in the mood to see a bunch of snot-nosed teenagers riding their skateboards and sharing cigarettes.

How often did that mood strike you?

They are fine. I'm not going out of my way to eat at Red Robin but I'll have a burger if I am in a mall and its there.

The Royal is my favorite.
