I get an invite or notice about this bar opening called Geek Bar. For all you old timers, this was the location that house "GRANITZAS" at one time, AKA Karl Heinz Granitza! Der Sting!

So I get the email because I did lease the property for about 5 years and whenever a guy leases a space, the owners of the building act like its their bar for a night and invite people. Maybe I got this email 3 weeks ago?

In the area and we decide to stop bye and see what is going on.

Piece of paper in the window. Not open yet, go to 1940 W. North Ave for the Beta Pop Up version. LOL...That gamer talk I guess for "We dont know what the fuck we are doing opneing a bar!"

Maybe they make it, maybe they dont, the space is divided into 3 level of 5,000 Each. top 2 floors are really one area, but the basement is a pretty big private room and the geekers could do some freaky fuck a tinder friend in a bunnyoutfit while playing some game online night.

The only problem I would see with opening an establishment that caters to this crowd is that the culinary tastes seem to be vegan, starbucks and papa johns, with a side of Molly and Addy! In the end not sure the crowd you get buys enough product to keep this place open.

thing is, on Friday and Saturday nights, geeks are playing in geek fantasy game tournaments in comic book storefront spaces. They have no need for a bar as there are adequate gathering spaces across the city.

My son plays in one of these on Friday nights. He isn't even in his teens yet and I always chalk it up to being like Dungeons and Dragons in my youth. There are a lot of kids around his age playing as well but half the room is filled with guys older than college age. I have never seen a female playing.
