CHICAGO (May 4, 2015) – The Sausage King of Chicago, Doug Sohn, is bringing back Hot Doug’s! For one weekend only in June, Doug will pop-up his legendary restaurant at Goose Island Barrel Warehouse (605 N. Sacramento).

Hot Doug’s and Goose Island Beer Company present The Dog Dayz of Summer, a brand new hot dog fest that pays homage to the classic Chicago dog on June 27th and 28th. The Dog Dayz of Summer gives ticketed attendees the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive tasting of the “best hits from Hot Doug’s” in a festival-like setting – paired with ice cold beer and live music. Doug will be curating a selection of his famous sausage sandwiches and iconic duck fat fries, as well as reprising his old role behind the counter– serving and chit-chatting with customers. Meanwhile Goose Island will pour their latest summer and specialty beers and a mix of bands will set the tone on the stage.

Produced by Criterion Productions, the company behind hallmark Chicago festivals like Do Division, Battle of the Burger, and Wicker Park Fest, The Dog Dayz of Summer is a family-friendly event taking place on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th at two different ticket times each day: Noon to 3 pm, and 5 pm to 8 pm (four separate ticketed sessions total). There will be no VIP section; everyone gets the same ticket, same access, same dogs. Admission tickets can be purchased beginning today at 10 am CDT by visiting www.dogdayzofsummer.com. Admission includes Goose Island beer tickets, Hot Doug’s sausages and duck fat fries. Tickets are limited. First come, first served… by Doug!

75 bucks for a 3 hour "session"!!!

With how I enjoy my 'dogs, I'm pretty sure they'd string me up and make a piñata out of me even as I proclaim my love of Matilda. Yes, I'm referring to ketchup. Eff you if you don't like it.

Ketchup makes everything better, including hot dogs. No shame in that.

I roll my hot dogs up into the crust of my ultra thin homemade pizza with Provel. The pizza sauce I use is ketchup with a sprinkle of oregano and basil.
