I've been a fan of Jack for over 10 years (except the flavored stuff) and this is probably the best of them all. You don't need a lot of it either.

I am also a big fan of Jack. Like coca-cola. nice and sweet. too pricey for the quality though. I am a man of principle. principal? putting a hurt on Old Grand Dad right now.

I've seen it at Kenwood before.

There is a Frank Sinatra Jack that someone should buy me for Christmas or Kwanzaa.

There's no need for a sideswipe at IMU in a whiskey thread ...

I think the lesser aged ones get down around that price. The 23-year, I've seen at over $100 a shot.

I am not even pretending to be a Whiskey expert, but I always enjoyed Jack more than other brands. Gentlemen Jack, etc.

Per the Whiskey experts the water is from creek that runs over Limestone and removes the iron? or close to that theory...I guess.

It is still a great product.

Liked the honey, the first week it came out, after then 3rd shot....too sweet. Nice changeup for a night.

2 Gingers is a good alternative to Jameson/Bushmills, if you're looking for an Irish blend. They are new to market, so undercutting in price and throwing in a couple of glasses with their holiday packs:

2 Gingers is out of the now Suntory Beam owned Cooley distillery. Tyrconnell Single Malt is out of the same distillery.

One of the sons of the founder of Cooley[ John Teeling], Jack Teeling, has fired up the first new distillery in Dublin in over a century. So far, this is their flagship and it's hit or miss:

I can't stand Jack, too sweet for my taste. I'm a fan of Glenmorangie, bought it for a friend one time and have liked it ever since.

You had me intrigued with the Knappogue post, but Two Gingers? Girl whiskey made to be mixed. That's why it's cheap(ish).

Exactly. 2 Gingers is great for bringing to a holiday party. I find it brighter, livelier, crispier than dull, bland, oily Jameson. But then maybe I've had too much Jameson in my life.

Knappogue Castle is the real deal. I sometimes splurge on Binny's private label, hand-numbered Irish single malts ($60-$80+ a bottle). Knappogue isn't that far off of those. And if you pick up a bottle or two of Knappogue 12 year on a 10% off coupon/special, out the door under forty a bottle.

I have refrained from whiskey since improper consumption techniques led to disastrous results many years ago. We stopped in at Journeyman distillery (Three Oaks, MI) on the way to the last Sox game this year. WOW!. Never had such smooth stuff. Good thing we had to go, or I might not have made it out. Their website says Binney's has it available, unless you find yourself on the Sunset coast.

If you are a Scotch drinker, Jack would definitely be too sweet.

Me either. Usually those that do not like say too harsh on throat or similar.

Jack Daniels is way too syrupy sweet. George Dickel over Jack, if there aren't Irish pours available. Beam over Jack if like I'm being held hostage by ISIS and that's all they're offering. #FeelTheBurn
