Really late to the party here, but this place is the real deal for hot dogs. Better fries than Gene and Jude's or Jimmy's. I never venture east of the River, so I dunno what's over that way. Plus they have a big PARKING LOT!!

4.5/5

Sounds like a place Pittmike frequents.

I'm confused by this place. Its obviously the same as the Red Hot Ranch at Ashland and Barry, yet the menu is a little different in a major way. Both locations have fried shrimp, but the one you went to is missing a key menu item that is the big seller at Ashland, the RHR burger. Don't see the RHR anywhere on the Damen menu. RHR double is two small patties, flattened and cooked on the flat top, with cheese and the special RHR sauce (spicy 1000/ketchup concoction).

Seems odd that the Damen location wouldn't have this on the menu as well since its the signature item and fantastic.

My wife always gets the shrimp, battered and fried to order, they are quite good.

the Damen one was first and was somehow related to much older 35th St. Red Hots, per somebody on LTHForum.

So there's one on Damen, Western, and Ashland?

Really good shrimp. Value deal.

Shrimp. Dogs. Fries.
