Anyone know of some good semi quite fishing spots in the McHenry or Lake County area? Went out to Chain-o-lakes today and the experience with the people who over indulged was less then pleasing. We have some small ponds and such near us, but looking for a place we can make a day out of it or can at least have a picnic.

I think UMN thought the request was for fat women and cheese curds.

Both of those and super bowl championships and future hall of famers. Randall Cobb is dominating camp this year. There are still seats on the train to Canton.

I have never been out to this place but I worked with a guy a couple years ago....he had some impressive pics on his phone of 6 lb bass from a place near bartlett called quarry lake..claimed there were northern and crappie in there also.

RNM, Try Vulcan Lakes in the Three Oaks Recreation Center in Crystal Lake.
The fishing is phenomenal. Boat rental is pricey but you can do real well from shore.
They have a sand beach and even have a Culver's on site.

agreed on Vulcan Lakes...probably the best place in the area for kids. you could always fish at the McHenry Dam too.

The only time to fish on the Chain (on weekends) is between 4am-7am. After that the early bird skiers are out and by 9am all hell has broken loose.

it's too damn hot to fish anyway.
