i dont even know what to say. people ask why i do my own work. "wow, you must got lucky with that thing, 250k miles is a lot for a truck"

no. its not. not when you properly maintain it. what happens when you half ass it? your driveshaft explodes at 80mph on the interstate and youre left stranded for the first time in the 7 years you owned the truck. you would think 40 years of mechanic experience would drive someone to do a u joint job properly... but no you had to rush the job. un fucking believable. oh even better, transaxel flud is all over the ground which means i probably ruined the transfer case too. thanks dad. i hope you like paying up the ass for towing and unnecessary repairs!

just fuckin shoot me now. and sorry to whoever got the ass end of my driveshaft. im sure it scared the shit out of someone... hopefully it just spun itself off to the median... hopefully...

As long as the johnson rod is properly inserted into your crankshaft, everything else should be easily repairable.

well i was in the left lane, and the direction the shaft spins it should have spun off into the median... but who knows. i coasted like nothing happend for over a mile (was just over a hill. the ujoints vibrated themselves to death. they are 3 weeks old). i knew right away, and i looked back to see if any cars were braking but it didnt seem like it. i just made my way to the right and coasted until it stopped.

i would have tried to drive it home in front wheel drive (4wd minus a rear drive shaft), but when i saw the fluid leaking everywhere my heart sunk a little and i just let her rest. i dont know if its t case fluid or what, its too dark to tell. its 74 miles away from the shop, and i dont even have the driveshaft. who knows if its still in tact.... holy shit this fuckin sucks. my poor truck... the one time i let someone else help me work on it this is the result....

who knows, maybe it was something unrelated to that job... i shouldnt point until i find out what really happened... but this is truly one of those nights where i wonder what the fuck is going on. one of those nights where a pound of cocaine could be in front of me and i would die from suffocation before overdose.

egg on my face. it wasnt the u joint job we did. the transfer case seized up and exploded my new ujoints out. im looking at least at a new transfer case and driveshaft, possibly new transmission too. wont know about the transmission really until we do the t case and test drive it... ugh...
