I've been trying the online dating thing for almost a year and a half. If I haven't met
the person after 2-3 weeks I stop talking to them. I could see this being a barrier if it was
a long distance relationship but even then I would think you would have to skype or
something. I really don't care much for the online dating world but I really have no idea
where else to turn to meet someone and it has paid some dividends so far, although I
haven't found that one person yet.

I'd imagine that would get old after a little while, but that's just me. I need the interpersonal contact in order to really feel close to someone. After awhile, I'd get pretty lonely and bored in an online/long distance relationship. I'd have to move on.

I think I'd rather be alone than to be in a phone relationship with someone I can't physically be with.

Why are you narrowing it to just male/female dating? 99% of your online friends here prefer the opposite. You need to better connect w/ your audience.

I met me wife online...Granted it was a log time ago...Looks like online dating has changed since. We started out chatting on the computer and then talking on the phone and then dating. Engaged after dating for 3 months. It will be 11 years in April that we have been married.

I just find it hard to believe that an All-American LB from a prestigious university can be taken like this. I think that is why people think he knew about the hoax all along. How can you not think that if this chick doesn't want to meet you after so much time that something might be wrong. I would think it would raise a red flag.

It is possible that he was still hooking up with girls there in Indiana but had this as his "girlfriend." The never meeting her thing is strange, but the guy comes off as not very bright to begin with -- not thinking about visiting her when she was in the hospital, etc. I could see a self-centered mindset just focusing on himself and when she says "don't bother coming out here -- you need to concentrate on you, etc." he would take that bait no problem. She is a nice Samoan girl that is perfect to show the parents pictures of, and meanwhile he can keep banging blond corn fed Indiana girls on the side.

If anything at this point, I think that Tuiasosopo would be more likely to be gay. The voicemail sounds like a girl (whether it is remains to be seen) but if I was on the other end of that call, I'd think it was a girl. The guy keeping up the twitter account and sending the pictures, etc. for over 2 years has to have some feelings about doing it I'd imagine -- it might be funny for a couple of months, but keeping it up past even three months to me indicates there's something else going on upstairs.
