Been using firefox for the last several years and never had any problems with it. Suddenly the last couple of days every time my computer shuts down and has to be restarted firefox will not load it is like it disappears. The icon is still on my desktop and under the start button, but when you click on it nothing happens and it does not show up in the list of programs on the control panel. So I have to go into IE and download firefox and then it loads up and runs fine.

Anyone else ever have this problem?

Few possibilities. First, the Firefox shortcut might have been messed up or changed. Second, something might have changed with an administration privilege.

Download Google chrome and join the botnet, RFDC.

The botnet wants you. The botnet needs you. Isn't your computer making it obvious by now? It's time to put silly theories like privacy to rest and join us in the future. You've got nothing to hide, right? You've got nothing to fear. Join us in the botnet. Resistance is futile. We are chrome. We are legion. We forgive and we forget, but if we forget our user history is easily recalled/searchable. We are forever.

Join or reboot. The choice is yours.

Try creating a new shortcut. Most likely, the folder is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe. Right click it and select send to -> Desktop. See if you can restart and the shortcut works.

Just realized I responded to this after a few beers. The other likely possibility is that you have an add-on / module that is messed up. You may want to try to run Firefox and then click Tools -> Add-ons. On the left side, click Plug-ins and either make sure they are up to date or disable any that you have not seen before.

Unfortunately, no. Cisco is the devil.

That's what I found out.

I called Cisco and they told me my one year warranty was up and I needed a firmware update and it would be 39.99 for it.

I told them that since their little game rendered the unit inoperable, that I would return it through Amazon and get a full refund. I then informed them that I purchased the unit with an Amazon Visa card which entitled me to an extra year on top of their one year warranty.

So today I ent out and bought a nNetgear unit and Amazon will re-imburse for the cost of the unit.

So, they are stupid and Satan.
