And let's not kid ourselves, despite the stresses that made me a raging asschunk, it's no secret that I was "Old school CSFMB" at that time. The remotes and get togethers were a relatively new thing at the time, and the ensuing love fest sickened me to no end. In my opinion, it greatly affected the board and made it largely unenjoyable.
Due to the new "Real" friendships that were developing, the board became a lot less honest, and a lot less interesting.
I don't feel a lot different these days, at least in terms of the board/honesty. I will say however, that I'm happy for those who have furthered their joy in life through these endeavors.

I think for the most part, I've lowered myself on the asshole scale.

In business many times it's important for a woman to maintain her identity. Changing her name might cause some confusion whereby the hard work done to establish relationships (in business) would be effectively lost. It would probably seem odd to me, had my wife not changed her name, but I would have accepted a hyphened choice had that been her preference. I know women who made such a choice. One is my son's Godmother who worked in advertising at the time she married (she's a professor at Nothwestern now) and she and her husband have been very happily married for over 24 years. I don't think it should be seen as a sign of disrespect or a lack of confidence that the relationship will last.
