Good Morning CSFMB,

I was wondering if anyone else has tried MagicJack Plus for the home phone. I have dumped Comcast after about 25 years. My "bundle" shot up to 166 a month. We are going with WOW cable. 99 bucks a month for internet and cable with one DVR and one box. Any opinions on WOW?

Magic Jack is awesome. I use them in my phone room. Added bonus: The dialing system causes a hitch in the other browser windows which slows my guys' Facebook usage a bit.

Magic Jack works surprisingly well.
I had an issue with the voice mail feature and their customer service was absolutely top notch.

I actually had an English-speaking-good-old-USA person talk me through the steps to change all of the settings on my wireless router in very little time,

That was our cable/internet provider when we lived in the cultural mecca from '02-'04. No complaints.

If you have a cell phone, there's no need to keep a land line for at home.

A woman I worked w/ really liked Magic Jack. As for WoW, one of my aunt's had it, & the onscreen guide looked like it came from an '80s computer. Plus, you couldn't even hear the audio of the show you were watching when checking them listings.

I recommend Ooma. Big upfront cost (~200) but then no more monthly bills. Paid for itself in less than six months, and sound quality is BETTER than landline. Allows you to still use all your existing wired phones throughout the house.
