One time, when I was much younger, I was hanging out with some buddies and I got extremely drunk. I am talking so drunk that it was a miracle that I was conscious. I was trying to work my magic with the ladies, but was having no luck, probably because I was virtually incoherent.

Somehow, I got separated from my friends and I ended up wandering around lost in a drunken stupor. Unfortunately it was January and it was so cold that even though I was so drunk I started to realize I was probably going to die unless I got inside somewhere. So I ended up banging on random doors until finally some kind soul let me in. The next morning I had gigantic blisters on my ears from the cold. These blisters were unbelievably massive, and I have subsequently learned that I was very close to the frostbite level.

So I can relate to this story. Also, this is why I do not miss drinking.

does that even matter though? if hes inside, his wet socks actually help gradually warm his feet instead of shocking them, and i dont think they could contribute to frostbite because theyre not frozen. maybe im wrong though, i dont know.


nice story stoneroses... i have been there too. ive had my hands so cold i literally lost all feeling, i would bang them against the bar rail and i cant feel it. it does scare you a bit, but im lucky to never had frostbite.

You are very wrong. Wet clothes never help get you warm regardless of if you are inside or outside. It can be 85 degrees outside and but if you are in wet clothes and its dark out its still very possible to get hypothermia.

Well, obviously you can't get frostbite in 85 degree temps. But you can if you are in wet clothes even if you are inside. If you are alone and fall into icy water, the only chance you have at surviving is to strip off your wet clothes (all of them), try to dry yourself off as much as possible, ring your clothes out, then build a fire. You can have the biggest fire in the world going but if you stay in those wet clothes, frostbite and possibly death is inevitable.

It is very possible to get frostbite inside in bed if you are wearing icy/snowy clothes.
