I just got this call. Guy trying to impersonate a DEA officer claiming I bought Ambien from a Dominican Online Pharmacy, that they just busted and had my CC#. (Never taken Ambien...kinda scared too!)

he then claims he has my signature on file as accepting the package in .............2007!

Now, I know it's scam, but lets play it out.......so i ask what I need to do? My options are to let the warrant be issued for my arrest or pay the fine of $1000!...I ask if he takes cash, because I only have cash. He then tells me I can wire the money....he will give me a routing number. I say OK....and he gives me info of a bank in the Caribbean....because thats where all the US Government banking is done......I laugh....he realizes the scam is up and tells me "This is not a laughing matter ...and an arrest warrant will be issued for me"..and hangs up.

They claim in the article they cant trace out of country routing numbers, which is probably true for some low level dweeb at a desk, but I can assure you if it was real money being moved to ISIS, they would trace it, find the owner of the account and where those funds get wired to and send a TOMMY HAWK to the guys house.

It's like many things in law enforcement. They cant do it because it's too much work, until it becomes serious, then all rules are off the table.
