Jer' used to live at 200 N. Dearborn, saw him many times and he looked like shit then, cant imagine what he looks like 20 years later.
I have a friend who lived there, too. Oddly enough, the guy who introduced me to the owners of the Redhead.
I was the first to move into the building. It was a Baird and Warner development and I was Johnny Baird's "I got an assignment for you" guy. NOBODY lived downtown at the time, the building was empty, he gave us a 2 BR for $500 a month and financed a few parties for us on the 9th floor sundeck/pool to get the place recognized, we invited all the leasing apartment people, etc.. We set up a teebox there to drive golf balls into the Chicago River as 77 Wacker didnt exist yet an at night, CBD was empty!. The place is connected to the Clark Street food court, so during shittier days we could walk in there and get something to eat on the weekends, usually only McD's was open and the 2nd worst pizza I ever had Z best Pizza! Yes, it is on my list as the second worse pizza I ever had and I knew it wasnt good even before I got it, but we got it because of the proximity...and even with that, hungover on a Saturday morning it was terrible!
Had some dope dealers in that building as well, due to one of those tax credit deals if you let subsidized housing take 15% and risk the lives of the other tenants, you get a nice big tax credit. Had some rastas in there, who had a LOT of "Vistors" on a daily basis and had a pimp using an apartment, all through this wonderful subsidized housing program.
