I was talking about Hitler once with some friends and was wondering how a guy like that could get into power... they said, he was a wizard when it came to delivering speeches... he had a golden tongue that would turn anyone to his side. But when I watch his speeches on youtube, he is screaming and yelling in German. I don't think it is very convincing at all, and I'll grant you I don't speak German, but if I saw someone doing that in English, I don't know that I would be convinced that he is a great leader.

Given the hype that has surrounded this team since going back to last October, anything less than a WS title should be a disappointment. Not being a hater, but this team was expected to be good....they are good...they best deliver.

I'd really like them to just get it over with so I never have to hear about curses and Bartman again.

Let's assume that making the trade increases the Cubs' chances of winning the title by 20% this year but decreases it 5% for the next 5 years. Do you think Theo makes the deal? How much is he willing to risk for a single year vs maintaining maximum "bites at the apple"?

I would agree when you also account for the fact that he has way more value in the AL. The problem is that now, his value is low due to the injury.

Only one team wins the world series every year. I'd hardly say that the balance of the league is choking... Not winning the division at this point would be a choke. The fucking Giants scare me shitless come playoff time. Baseball is crazy though, if the Cubs end up like the Braves and make runs every year for a decade but only win once.... I'll be perfectly fine with that.

Depends how it happens. If they are up 3-0 to Texas in the 2017 WS and they lose... Yes its a choke. If they consistently get there but just keep losing, it will be a failure but I dont know if you can call it choking.
