you cant make this shit up

8 years ago the dems wanted socialistic health care, and republicans refused it. they wanted privatized health care that benefited insurance companies.

so obama compromises and creates a hybrid plan, that expands the social scope for the poor, but mostly put the responsibility on the private market to carry the weight of the of bill.

it was a 75% conservative idea, and the republicans simply hated it because the black donkey put his name on it. literally, even though it wasn't official, obama embraced the republican bill as 'obamacare'.

fast forward 8 years, and the republicans have every bit the power to pass a replacement plan, and they simply cant do it... because obamacare is already too conservative and if you make it even more so the system will abandon a huge percentage of the people its supposed to siphon money from.

just unreal. especially now because the republicans are playing it off as 'we would rather see obamacare fail under its own weight', when that 'weight' is the responsibility the ACA puts on the private market to produce results- which is precisely what the republicans always say they want.

Your leaders are fucking retarded, red voters. Sorry to say it, it's just fact.

Ryan is done as speaker and Trump just torpedoed his own presidency by trying to screw over his base and failing miserably.

This is a great day for the people of America.

In the end, the GOP will play the victim card. When they refuse to simply repair Obamacare and premiums & deductibles become even more repressive, they simply say that it's the Dem plan. They offered you a choice and they were rejected. Blame the dems! Hell, they already are by saying their bill failed because no dems voted for it! Never mind all the repubs who refused it too!

I would say that message won't fly with a GOP President and Congress, but people are deeply stupid.

Anything's possible.

problem is the ACA has only been fully adopted for a year, and over time the shortcomings will iron out. hell, the biggest hurdles already have been overcome, which is fear. most people like having insurance, especially the ones who couldn't get it before the ACA.

Again the biggest reason for the premium increases come from many states refusing to 'buy in' and take the medicare subsidies. i bet this failure to adopt a new plan will put new pressure on governors to finally cave. And even despite that, more competition will come now that insurance companies know they system is going to stay in place.

And just think, they're proposing an unnecessary $54 billion increase for the wasteful, crony filled Pentagon budget and billions more for the next Maginot Line.

Just got home and read up on the news and I didnt even know these fuckers didn't even try a vote. WHAT A BUNCH OF PUSSIES!

If you at least put it up for a vote, there is a better chance your bill may pass vs NOT EVEN TRYING YOU BUNCH OF WEAKLINGS!

It's too funny. At least you put it to a vote, some may get scared of not voting for and change their mind at the moment.

Trump really needs to drop the republican do nothing dip shit congress. All they know how to do is bitch and complain.

I am waiting on an ASSHOLE that was elected to deliver hope and change and racial harmony and utopia as he promised in Colorado under Greek Mythological columns.

Grow old man and see the politics Barry played in your face.

obama was good as far as presidents go...

but, he did put party over policy, just like most of them do. if he didn't care about his party more than he did us, weed would be legal by executive order.

Yes I agree.

I voted for Reagan. He was the right man at the right time for this country. He was mainstream unlike this revisionist bullshit history these Fox News republicans try to tell you on how he was a Right Wing wacko. He put country over his party.

I see this as one of 2 scenarios:
1. Trump got behind this bill just to get it over with and move on to other items in his agenda that he deems more important.
2. Trump new this was crap but wanted to let Ryan have his stage and piss all over himself. It did all of that and more and Ryan no longer has any credibility and has lost his muscle within the GOP.

I'm leaning toward #2, but don't want to make it look like I think Trump is some kind of genius. The clock is ticking and this failure could still be what makes Trump a 1-term president.

3. Trump wanted it done and thought he could bully the Tea Party to get it passed. He found out that isn't how Washington works. He also found out running a privately owned business is different from being a CEO of a publicly traded company or the president. You can't just make people do what you want them to do.

And now he's threatening primary opposition. Good luck with that, I'm sure the base will come out in droves in the 2018 general if you kicked around the incumbents in the primary. Good fucking luck getting anything passed if the Democrats take back congress. He can't pass things with the GOP in control.

He's sealing up his single term brick by brick....unless Hillary runs again.

Is this going to put an end to idiots like Scorehead who desire for a business man to be president? W was a businessman, too. 0 for 2 on my scorecard.

At least W had some experience and a strong support network to lean on (although they turned out to be less than ideal).

He literally wants to get rid of his base. It's weird. These people were elected to do exactly what they're doing. Ask for 100% and not budge unless you get it.

They're just going to demand a CEO next. Because they know how to work with people to get things done.

I cannot argue with this. Very possible, but if it is the case, it sides with 1. in that replacing Obamacare not at the top of his agenda. He campaigned that it was.

As much as this can be a black eye for Trump, this failed piece of legislature is a bigger black eye for Ryan and the GOP. As bad as Obamacare is, this was a ridiculous replacement bill....most GOP voters can and do see that. Ryan royally fucked this one up.
