LTG, I posted that to show that the Dems give zero shits about extremists and flyover country. Whether Bannon and Trump took advantage of that has nothing to do with my point. Those "deplorables" were ripe to be used because the left never cared about them.
Actually the deplorable comment was intended for those that subscribe to "embrace Racism" ideology. As usual let's generalize in order to obscure the point. Her comment regarding deplorables was intended for the Alt Right crowd. To suggest that TRump gives a shit about anyone but himself is laughable. If they were looking for someone that cared about them they could have did a whole lot better than that asshole. His track record in business illustrates that perfectly.
This. The deplorables were never in play for HRC. Her mistake was underestimating the mood of the middle and ignoring their desire to hear a strong message addressing their concerns.
Who the actual deploreables she meant to reference doesn't matter.
It was one of the dumbest political statements in history. And this latest one is just as dumb (albeit, she's not running) and will be applied (as pm has already done) to all democrats.
She really needs to go away for the good of the party.
What she said is the truth. Who cares if it makes political sense or not. As far as alienating people goes Trump probably pissed off more groups than any candidate in history and he still won. There was nothing "inclusive" about what he did.
As far as Middle America goes it is rather interesting that you rarely hear about the demographics of middle America during these discussions. The Left and Right Coasts get bashed all the time for not being represented of the country but that is a misnomer. COastal America is much more demographically in tune with this country than Middle America. If you look at the so called "red" states you see that most of the states are comprised of populations that are over 95% white. There is much more diversity found on the East and West Coast than there is in "Middle America.
These (Coastal) areas are bashed incessantly for not being representative of "Real" America. Begs the Question of "Whose America"? Whose America are they referencing when they make this particular statement? I think we all know the answer to that one. When Trump referenced making America great again it was this particular America that he spoke about.
