The rise and fall of Steve & Barry's is a fairly interesting little retail tale. I think they had a store in the dying days of Randhurst as part of their "exploit next-to-free rent in next-to-abandoned malls" strategy.

I barrel through running shoes. I can't imagine how little use I would get out of $25 shoes.

Their hoodies were fine for the most part. I think I still have a couple of crappy ones that I wear when I'm doing yardwork in cooler weather.

I also have a Bubba Golf pullover that gets use during Spring/Fall/Rainy golf rounds.

I never bought one, but I remember them having those faux-leather jackets for sale at like $20 a pop. You'd walk into the store and smell those things all the way in the back. After they folded and you walked past the empty store fronts in malls, you'd still smell those things 2-3 years later.

When I was in college instead of doing laundry I would just go buy 5 t shirts for 20 bucks or whatever.

Yeah I made use of the cheap college t-shirts. Sometimes the printing wasn't on there straight but whatever.... Usually tried to buy
Big Ten schools or go the opposite end of the spectrum and buy odd ball schools.
