You're reading Mary Mitchell wrong, and I have been pointing out her tendency to blame everything on black men/boys here since 2005.

I'm not sure where you've been, but black men/boys still have to prove they're not the boogeyman to MANY. If you put up a photo of a generic black man/boy or woman/girl and asked everyone in America what word comes to mind to describe them, I am confident the majority of the time that word will be negative. Do the same with someone whites and rhe majority of the time that word will be positive. There is a reason for that. In addition to that, you have the power to change anything you want in this country at any time. As someone who represents 6% of the population it takes more time, compromise and coalition building to get results.

I really appreciate that. The kid is resilient. He's doing a lot better now. The trips to the cardiologist aren't as frequent and for the most part he's hit his milestones. We're absolutely blessed.

We may be talking about two different things. What I'm saying is you could write an op-ed for a legacy media outlet titled "White Men Are The Problem And Here's Why" and there would be slight grumbling from certain quarters (like we see here almost everyday), but that's about it. If I were to submit a piece titled "[Any Group But White Men] Are The Problem And Here's Why" not only would it never get published, but if somehow it did, I would be a social pariah- a Nazi- and rightfully so.
