Kietzman apologizes and shares more of his side on a KC news station

Definitely a part of this story that seems to be lost is that Reid has a son on the coaching staff....and he was the only member of the defensive staff that did not lose his job in this offseason. Kietzman says that is what he was referring to in the context of his comments.

If I recall correctly didn't Dan Bernstein say on air that Tony Dungy should not be giving parenting advice since his son committed suicide? Nothing happened to Dan, but he wasn't talking about a current Chicago head coach.

How does "The thing is, they probably think they can fix him, but they thought they could fix him before and they failed. Andy Reid does not have a great record of fixing players. He doesn’t. Discipline is not his thing. It did not work out particularly well in his family life..." make sense if he is talking about his son remaining on staff?

I'll agree with Bernstein on this, Dungy is a piece of crap. His son killed himself because his dad is Bible thumping dip shit who thinks being gay is a choice and a sin. His son killed himself because his Dad hated him.

That he did not have the disciple to fire his own son when the rest of the staff got axed? Maybe moreso of fixing the staff than really fixing his son...

Maybe.

If that's what he meant, he worded it so poorly as to have it be unbelievable.

He already said he was referencing his drug addiction and arrest though.

A part of the quote that seems to be missed in this discussion is - "He’s had a lot of things go bad on him: family and players. He is not good at fixing people." It's a stretch to think that was somehow related to not firing his son.

I didn't but it seems clear he is now changing his story from his strange twitter apology where he said this: "I was referencing the drug addiction and convictions for dealing drugs." He probably read my post about how it's not really different to mention the drug addiction and the drug overdose given how closely related they would be.

I honestly agree with Beerstine on this one. it's one thing to have a kid die of an overdose and have it thrown in your face, it's another thing to have a kid kill himself and turn around and write a book giving advice on how to raise your kids.

There are no perfect parents and parents don't have a magical power to stop suicide. I think generally the people who dislike Dungy as generally liberals who hate Christians.
