JoRR... If you bought an electronic cuff be warmed that they are not 100% reliable compared to your standard cuff.

Mine somehow lost calibration and was giving me numbers that were way too high. Luckily I had an apt scheduled with my doc, and they said everything is fine.

When I first started BP meds last September after I had a “cardiac event” I also remember feeling pretty relaxed.

I second the stop drinking thing, or at least cutting back.

Yeah, I know the $40 unit I bought isn't going to be as reliable as what they have in a hospital. That's why I've been taking it several times each day.

Also, I'm pretty sure I haven't had a drink since last Thursday. Strike that, my wife and I did have a bottle of Champagne at Cafe Cancale on Sunday night. But I certainly don't drink everyday. I guess the efforts of a former poster to paint me as a fall down drunk must have gained some traction here.

Sorry.

Also, sitting a lot, eating too much red meat, and reading the CFMB politics section have all been proven to increase your risk of heart disease.

I personally cut my sugar intake way down and switched from 4 shot white mochas to one 20oz black coffee a day. Espresso is no good for your heart, or the flavoring they can add to it.

Yeah, I know the right answer is to modify my diet. It's kind of happening naturally as I get older. There's shit I used to gobble down that I can't imagine eating now. Also, my wife has been trying to extend my life with kale, collards, field greens (I call it dirt salad) and rocket.

Yeah, modifying the diet can be a pain.

Fortunately, I like Salmon and skinless chicken.

Learning to live with barely any salt in my meals was a hurdle tho.

And it’s not like you have to live a life without any fatty food.

My mom has my old man on a strict heart healthy diet (also on meds), and he is still allowed one cheat meal a week. Usually pizza. His blood labs and overall health are night and day compared to a decade ago.

You just gotta remember, you’re doing it for yourself, but also for your family and CFMB.

I've drank with you probably at least 10 times and I can only recall you really going hard once. I believe that we were at Miller's Pub. It was around Christmas or your birthday or something.

There's a lot to this imo. After cutting down on everything unhealthy for a few days, including screen time and today I felt good after 45 minutes of clearing snow and ice in lieu of going to the gym.

This f'ing place. Audacious transgender musings about someone else's kid devolve into comparing BP prescriptions and a TS swipe of an old Dr. Ken posting style. Well done.

And my story Trump's yours JORR. But boredom ensues when I tell a tail. Serious moderation or no Booze, red meat, salt, tobacco and stress. Good luck to all.

I've been on the water pills since I was 22. I was prematurely getting pissed at JORR's posts.
