We are VERY wet, but I'm far closer to Chicago than Midland, actually about 60 miles due east of Evanston, outside of St. Joe, MI. We're probably 150 miles from Midland.

I'm trying to get a hold of a retired coworker who lives near the flooding, but from what I know is upstream of the dams that broke. He's not big on cell phones or cell service, I should say.

We spent a quality five hours yesterday chasing a calf that had escaped the pasture fence through our grape vineyards, with ankle-deep mud helping us out. She benefitted from four-wheel-drive, but our opposable thumbs won out in the end!
